2005-10-30 Happy Halloween

Halloween marks an ancient time when it was believed that the spirits from the shadow world -- those we keep suppressed -- come to the surface. Looks, from the costumes, like it's mostly the scary spirits we hold down. But when we're already LIVING in scary times, when every news report concerns government lies, corruption, illegal wars, body counts and a rapacious economy, then the spirits relegated to the shadows are the other kind. This Sunday we'll try to recall some of the happy, healthy, loving and life-giving spirits that are all around and within us, waiting to be called forth.
